As of the academic year 2005-2006 the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, founder of the European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations & Communication, has introduced a new Registration procedure for doctoral research trainees through a system entitled INFOSTUD. Information related to this system can be found on the University’s Website located at: http://stud.infostud.uniroma1.it All doctoral research trainees recognised by the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, including those enrolled as International/European Doctoral Research Trainees, are now required to register on the INFOSTUD System. It should be noted that the registration on this system is in addition to any regulatory procedures which may have been established by the International/European doctoral programmes available at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. Furthermore, doctoral research trainees (including those who have or have not been awarded a scholarship) are required to pay the sum of 16,00 Euro in respect of administrative expenses which have been foreseen by the central administration of the University. Details of the payment procedure are outlined at the link mentioned above. Following the MIUR ((Italian Ministry of University and Research) reply received on March 6, 2018 to a question we asked about the applicability of recent administrative provisions (which have been communicated to us only after the issuance of the announcement and the registration of the candidates selected for the academic year. 2017-18) concerning the exemption of taxes also to PhD students (with and without scholarship) of Sapienza enrolled at the European/International Joint PhD on Social Representations and Communication (although governed by specific Inter-University Agreements with foreign institutions), we have provided on March 12, 2018 the refund of the sum of 3,500 euros to the eligible trainees who paid for the tuition fees for the enrollment in the 1st year (a.y. 2017-18) by crediting it to the same account from which the transfer was made. Recently new administrative dispositions about concerning the exemption of taxes have been settled and communicated to the European/International Joint PhD on Social Representations and Communication Program Director on October 2, 2018. Administrative actions are currently pursued to fulfill these new administrtive dispositions also regarding the students enrolled at the same time in the foreign partner Universities linked by Inter-institutional Agreements.
